Jane Burnley’s inspiration is colour and her surrounding countryside, with its patterns, shapes and fall of light.
Burnley, does not plan but works intuitively in acrylics, allowing the painting to emerge and develop.
She builds up layers of paint, scratching through to colours underneath.
This is an important part of the process for the artist, not only for the visual effect created but also for the physical action of it. She paints mainly abstract landscapes but also more eclectic work.
