Skellig Revisited, Norman Ackroyd CBE RA

28th November - 13th January

Upper Gallery

A brand new suite of ten etchings ‘Skelligs Revisited’, will be launched together with a series of watercolours developed from his latest journey to County Kerry in Ireland.  An informative ‘work in progress’ board displaying Norman’s sketches, stage proofs and working notes will also be exhibited.

Royal Academician Norman Ackroyd is famous for his atmospheric monochrome etchings and sublime watercolours of the Irish landscape. He takes us to the furthest edge of our continent, places which few of us will ever have the opportunity to visit. His images catch the elemental majesty of nature- of the sea, land and the bird life- literally- right on the edge. This exhibition brings together the result of Normans many visits, over 30 years, to this remarkable area and culminates in a suite of boxed etchings after his latest sketching tour this summer.

*Due to unprecedented demand we have extended this exhibition until Wednesday 13th January.
