Collection: Ian Brooks

Ian Brooks is a Professor at the Institute for Climatic and Atmospheric Science at the University of Leeds. As such, his research takes him to both polar regions where their extraordinary and unconventional beauty inspires most of his work.

He chose a science discipline at university instead of art although he claims he was always 'mildly obsessed' with printmaking. His marriage of his two loves gives us aquatints which capture the austere majesty of these icebound wonders and also the gentle landscapes of his native Yorkshire.
